* This TCX sizing chart refers to cyclocross racing use. If you will be primarily using your TCX for commuting or touring then you should use the next size down than the size stated in the chart. Eg if you are a medium on the chart based on your height and inside leg measurements, this medium size applies to racing use, but if you are touring or commuting you should use a small. This is because TCX frames do not use Compact Geometry - the frame needs to be larger for carrying the bike over the riders shoulder when navigating obstacles during cyclocross racing. |
CYCLOCROSS
Bikes designed for riding on a paved surface where the tyres do not lose ground contact, plus smooth gravel roads and improved trails with moderate grades where the tyres do not lose ground contact.
INTENDED: For cyclo-cross riding, training and racing. Cyclo-cross involves riding on a variety of terrain and surfaces including dirt or mud surfaces. Cyclo-cross bikes also work well for all weather rough road riding and commuting.
NOT INTENDED: For off-road or mountain bike use, or jumping. Cyclo-cross riders and racers dismount before reaching an obstacle, carry their bike over the obstacle then re-mount. Cyclo-cross bikes are not intended for mountain bike use. The relatively large road bike size wheels are faster than the smaller mountain bike wheels, but not as strong.
